China’s Unitree Robotics has been making significant advances in the field of robotics, particularly with their latest creations: the Go2 quadruped robot and the H1 humanoid robot, as well as the industrial-grade B2 quadruped robot.
The Go2 represents a leap forward in quadruped robotics, featuring an array of enhancements over its predecessors. It’s equipped with 4D ultra-wide LIDAR for superior terrain recognition, embodies AI capabilities through GPT for improved user interaction, and boasts upgraded hardware including a high-performance motor and enhanced battery life. Software improvements enable the Go2 to better adapt to various terrains and respond to voice commands, even offline. Additionally, it can carry a range of high-performance accessories and is capable of complex tasks like guarding, inspection, and recording through its advanced technology, including a servo robotic arm and high computing power modules
The H1 humanoid robot, on the other hand, has made headlines for breaking the world speed record, reaching speeds of up to 3.3 meters per second. It stands at 1,805 mm tall, weighs around 47 kg, and can carry a payload of up to 30 kg. The H1’s advanced design features five degrees of freedom in each leg and four in each arm, offering impressive mobility and agility. It’s equipped with a head-mounted Intel RealSense D435i depth-sensing camera and a Livox MID360 LiDAR module, processed in real-time by Dual Intel Core i7-1265U microprocessors. The H1 showcases a broad range of capabilities, including dancing, stair navigation, and high jumps, powered by M107 electric motors.
Lastly, the B2 quadruped robot has been described as better, stronger, and faster than its predecessor, the B1. Designed for industrial automation, inspection, emergency rescue, security patrolling, and education, the B2 can autonomously navigate rugged terrain thanks to its sensory equipment, including HD optical cameras, depth-sensing cameras, and LiDAR. It achieves a remarkable running speed of 6 meters per second and can jump horizontally over 1.6 meters. The B2 can carry loads up to 40 kg while walking and support up to 120 kg when stationary. Its battery life allows for five hours of operation on a single charge, even when loaded, and its leg joint actuators provide 170% more torque than those of the B1, enhancing its flexibility and stability for industrial operations
These advancements underscore Unitree Robotics’ commitment to innovation in the robotics field, showcasing their capabilities in developing versatile robots that could serve various sectors including entertainment, education, medical care, and industrial applications.
